About Us

Take A Bow strives to help young people learn to express themselves while being taught the techniques of singing, acting and dancing. At Take A Bow, we firmly believe in fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion where each class will promote the development of artistic abilities,  encourage respect and build self-esteem, all through group interaction in a recreational atmosphere.

Since the program began in 2009, we are continuously gratified watching our students develop their confidence and enthusiasm, as well as their skills in public speaking and memorization, as they prepare for their end-of-semester recital, the highlight of every Take A Bow session.

We have developed a cohesive community where extracurricular activities are planned for students and their families. Some of our favorite “outings” have included trips to local theaters and Broadway shows, karaoke and movie nights at the studio with our own popcorn-making machine, fundraising and performing in support of Relay for Life and performances at the JCC's Variety Show to raise money for their senior center. Take A Bow proudly sponsors a Plainview Little League softball team and we also have a relationship with a musical theatre school in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the past students from both schools have participated in a pen-pal exchange program. Twice, our students have been accepted into the Disney Youth Performing Arts Program where they had the incredible opportunity to perform and take a Master Class at Walt Disney World! The team at Take A Bow is constantly exploring opportunities beyond the classroom to provide our students with a unique and meaningful experience. We want them to feel that they are a part of something very special!

We have developed a cohesive community where extracurricular activities are planned for students and their families!

What People Say

“My son had a wonderful experience  and gained an incredible amount of confidence from taking a class at Take A Bow.  Just last summer, he was on stage crying tears of fright at his camp show, and after a semester at Take A Bow he was front row center stage singing and dancing his little heart out!!!.”

Pamela M.

“My daughter really enjoyed herself this summer. She is shy and at times an anxious kid, but musical theatre really speaks to her. She tried new things and got better at other things, and all because of the friends she made in the Take A Bow division at Mid-Island Day Camp."

Janna M.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating such an inspiring, fun-filled, non-competitive, nurturing, educational, confidence-building, friendship-forming program. There is NOTHING else like it. Our daughter calls Take A Bow her "home away from home"!”

Jamie & Mike L.

“Just wanted to let you know that my daughter is really enjoying Take A Bow. I'm so glad we found you! She said to me today after class, "I'll always go to TAB, even when I'm sick". I think that pretty much sums it up.”

Jillian M.

"Not only did this class teach my daughter all about theater and stage but went well beyond that…it provided her with strength, leadership and courage she didn’t even know she was capable of.

“Thank you so much for an amazing party! Everything was fantastic and super organized! The staff worked so hard to make this the best party; it was so unique and a perfect fit for my girls. I know all their friends had so much fun. A Take A Bow party is a TOP LIST pick in my book!"
